Youngchildren and pets should never be left unattended in vehiclesunder any circumstances. This is especially true during warm orhot weather when car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in amatter of minutes.Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. Whenpossible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning orevening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heatstroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing whenpossible and drink plenty of water.

Air Quality Alert issued June 13 at 1:52PM PDT by NWS San Diego CAThe South Coast AQMD has issued an air quality alert due toincreased particle pollution from blowing dust. The air qualityalert is in effect tomorrow.In areas directly impacted by high levels of windblown dust, limityour exposure by remaining indoors with windows and doors closed andavoiding vigorous physical activity. Run your air conditioner or anair purifier. If temperatures allow, avoid using whole house fans orswamp coolers that bring in outside air.Exposure to high particle pollution levels can cause serious healthproblems, including asthma attacks, heart and lung disease symptoms,and increased risk of respiratory infections. People with heart orlung diseases should follow their doctor's advice for dealing withepisodes of unhealthy air quality.
