Excessive Heat Warning issued June 14 at 2:05AM PDT until June 15 at 8:00PM PDT by NWS San Diego CA* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with temperatures up to 115expected.* WHERE...Coachella Valley and San Diego County Deserts.* WHEN...From 10 AM this morning to 8 PM PDT Saturday.* IMPACTS...Extreme heat will significantly increase thepotential for heat related illnesses, particularly for thoseworking or participating in outdoor activities.Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay outof the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Youngchildren and pets should never be left unattended in vehiclesunder any circumstances.Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. Whenpossible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning orevening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heatstroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing whenpossible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the OccupationalSafety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequentrest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyoneovercome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

Air Quality Alert issued June 13 at 1:52PM PDT by NWS San Diego CAThe South Coast AQMD has issued an air quality alert due toincreased particle pollution from blowing dust. The air qualityalert is in effect tomorrow.In areas directly impacted by high levels of windblown dust, limityour exposure by remaining indoors with windows and doors closed andavoiding vigorous physical activity. Run your air conditioner or anair purifier. If temperatures allow, avoid using whole house fans orswamp coolers that bring in outside air.Exposure to high particle pollution levels can cause serious healthproblems, including asthma attacks, heart and lung disease symptoms,and increased risk of respiratory infections. People with heart orlung diseases should follow their doctor's advice for dealing withepisodes of unhealthy air quality.
