Coastal Flood Warning issued September 23 at 5:46AM EDT until September 25 at 4:00AM EDT by NWS Baltimore MD/Washington DC* WHAT...Up to two feet of inundation above ground level in low-lying areas due to tidal flooding.* WHERE...Shoreline in the District of Columbia, ArlingtonCounty, and the City of Alexandria.* WHEN...Until 4 AM EDT Wednesday, especially around the time ofhigh tide.* IMPACTS...The unprotected area on the Southwest Waterfront atthe DC Seafood Market is expected to flood. Water is expected toapproach parts of the Hains Point Loop Road, but it will likelybe closed. Water is expected to approach buildings near KingStreet and Union Street in Alexandria.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Tides two and a half to three feet abovenormal. The next two high tides at Alexandria are at 1:17 PMthis afternoon and 1:33 AM overnight. The next two high tides atWashington Channel are at 12:59 PM this afternoon and 1:15 AMovernight.Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. Iftravel is required, do not drive around barricades or throughwater of unknown depth.
