Coastal Flood Advisory issued May 11 at 5:19PM EDT until May 12 at 3:00PM EDT by NWS Baltimore MD/Washington DC* WHAT...Up to one foot of inundation above ground levelexpected in low lying areas due to tidal flooding.* WHERE...Shoreline in the District of Columbia, ArlingtonCounty, and the City of Alexandria.* WHEN...Until 3 PM EDT Sunday, especially around the time ofhigh tide.* IMPACTS...Shoreline inundation is expected along portions of theseawall adjacent to Ohio Drive and the Hains Point Loop Road,and near the Tidal Basin and Jefferson Memorial. Water isexpected to approach the curb near the intersection of KingStreet and Strand Street in Alexandria.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Tides one and a half to two feet abovenormal. High tide at Alexandria is at 12:12 AM overnight and12:13 PM Sunday afternoon. High tide at Washington Channel is at11:54 PM this evening and 11:55 AM Sunday morning.If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may beclosed. Do not drive around barricades or through water ofunknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-proneproperty.
