Flood Watch issued June 20 at 8:56PM CDT until June 22 at 1:00PM CDT by NWS Des Moines IAAn increasing risk of heavy rainfall and flash flooding isanticipated over far northern Iowa Friday evening and overnight.Though storms may be ongoing Friday afternoon, the heaviest rainfallis expected late Friday evening to around dawn Saturday morning.Some uncertainty remains as to the exact axis of heaviest rainfall,but current indications are that the heaviest rainfall will benearer the Iowa Minnesota border. In northwest Iowa, Emmetand Palo Alto.* WHEN...From Friday afternoon through Saturday afternoon.* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occurin poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may beflooded.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- Expected rainfall totals of 3 to 5 inches with locally higheramounts are possible. Rapid rises in creeks, streams andurban flooding will be possible. Field flooding and washedout county roads will also be possible. Rainfall rates mayapproach 2 inches per hour in the heavier storms.
