Red Flag Warning issued April 25 at 2:20AM MDT until April 25 at 9:00PM MDT by NWS El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa NM...CRITICAL TO EXTREME FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ON THURSDAY......CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ON SATURDAY....Deep southwest flow will increase this afternoon with thepassage of an upper level jet streak. Deep surface low overeastern Colorado will extend a strong pressure gradient southwardinto New Mexico and west Texas, leading to strong winds area wideduring the daytime hours today. West-southwest winds withsustained speeds of 30 to 40 mph and peak gusts around 55 mphcombined with very low relative humidity values will lead tocritical fire weather conditions and the risk of rapid fire startand spread. Fuel moisture had dried rapidly this month,especially along the desert lowlands, due to preexisting droughtstatus and lack of recent precipitation. Winds subsiding overnightinto Friday morning, picking back up again Friday and Saturdayafternoons.
