Coastal Flood Advisory issued April 19 at 7:56PM EDT until April 19 at 9:00PM EDT by NWS Baltimore MD/Washington DC* WHAT...Up to one foot of inundation above ground level in lowlying areas due to tidal flooding.* WHERE...Shoreline in the District of Columbia, ArlingtonCounty, and the City of Alexandria.* WHEN...Until 9 PM EDT this evening, especially around the timeof high tide.* IMPACTS...Shoreline inundation is expected along portions of theseawall adjacent to Ohio Drive and the Hains Point Loop Road,and near the Tidal Basin and Jefferson Memorial. Water isexpected to approach the curb near the intersection of KingStreet and Strand Street in Alexandria.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Tides two to two and a half feet abovenormal. High tide is ongoing at Washington Channel andAlexandria.If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may beclosed. Do not drive around barricades or through water ofunknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-proneproperty.
