Overnight recoveries as low as 35 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Dry lightning will be possible on Tuesday with isolated storms during the afternoon and evening hours. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

Special Weather Statement issued June 9 at 4:53PM MDT by NWS Cheyenne WY At 453 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 9 miles southwest of Slim Butte to near Red Cloud Campground. Movement was northeast at 50 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Chadron, Chadron Municipal Airport, Red Cloud Campground, Chadron State Park, Dawes County Fairgrounds, and Chadron State Park Campground. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
