Drier air spreads eastward across the state in the wake of a dry frontal passage Wednesday. Critical conditions will focus over northeastern New Mexico on Wednesday, but forecast wind speeds are marginal for rapid fire spread. Dry lightning strikes today could start fires that then spread rapidly Wednesday in response to increasingly dry and windy conditions. * AFFECTED AREA...Northeast Plains (Zone 104) and Northeast Highlands (Zone 123). * TIMING...From Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday evening. * 20 FOOT WINDS...Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Relative Humidity between 6 to 9 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will spread rapidly.
