Fire Weather Watch issued June 9 at 2:10AM MDT until June 10 at 8:00PM MDT by NWS Albuquerque NM ...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 9 PM MDT THIS EVENING DUE TO STRONG WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE NORTHWEST PLATEAU AND WEST CENTRAL MOUNTAINS... ...FIRE WEATHER WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING DUE TO STRONG WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE NORTHEAST PLAINS AND NORTHEAST HIGHLANDS... .Strong southwest winds with low humidity, hot temperatures, and deep mixing today will increase the risk for rapid fire spread over far west central and northwest New Mexico. Drier air spreads eastward across the state in the wake of a dry frontal passage Wednesday. Critical conditions will focus over northeastern New Mexico on Wednesday, but forecast wind speeds are marginal for rapid fire spread. Dry lightning strikes today could start fires that then spread rapidly Wednesday in response to increasingly dry and windy conditions. * AFFECTED AREA...Northeast Plains (Zone 104) and Northeast Highlands (Zone 123). * TIMING...From Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday evening. * 20 FOOT WINDS...Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Relative Humidity between 6 to 9 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in the field of this Fire Weather Watch.
