Air Quality Alert issued May 17 at 1:28PM MST by NWS Tucson AZThe Pima County Department of Environmental Quality (PDEQ) hasissued an Ozone Action Day for the Tucson Metro Area now until sunset.This means that forecast weather conditions combined with existingozone levels are expected to result in local maximum 8-hour ozoneconcentrations that pose a health risk. Adverse health effectsincrease as air quality deteriorates.Ozone is an air pollutant which can cause breathing difficulties forchildren, older adults, as well as persons with respiratoryproblems.
