Flood Watch issued May 17 at 2:40AM HST until May 17 at 8:00PM HST by NWS Honolulu HI...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING FOR OAHU ANDKAUAI COUNTY......FLOOD WATCH FOR ALL ISLANDS IN MAUI COUNTY IS CANCELLED...* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to bepossible.* WHERE...Kauai, Oahu and Niihau.* WHEN...Through this evening.* IMPACTS...Significant flooding may occur due to the overflow ofstreams and drainages. Roads in several areas may be closed, alongwith property damage in urban or low lying spots due to runoff.Landslides may also occur in areas with steep terrain.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- A band of moderate to heavy showers with isolatedthunderstorms will slowly move through the western islandstoday, increasing the threat for flash flooding through thisevening. All islands in the Flood Watch area should beprepared for the possibility of flash flooding.You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take actionshould Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

Flood Advisory issued May 17 at 12:31PM HST until May 17 at 2:00PM HST by NWS Honolulu HI* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.* WHERE...The island of Oahu in Honolulu County.* WHEN...Until 200 PM HST.* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and instreams.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 1222 PM HST, radar and rain gages indicated that rainrates have diminished across much of Oahu. However, streamgages remain elevated over portions of the windward coast,Central Oahu, and the Waianae Mountains. Additional showersremain possible this afternoon, but conditions across thearea are expected to continue to improve.- Some locations that will experience flooding include...Waipio, Mililani, Wahiawa, Wheeler Field, Schofield Barracks,Waikele, Kunia, Pearl City, Waipahu, Aiea, Waikane, Waiahole,Halawa, Punaluu, Kahaluu, Waialua, Hauula, Kaaawa, Haleiwaand Makakilo.Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas proneto flooding.Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions dueto ponding, reduced visibility and poor braking action.A Flood Watch is also in effect through Friday evening.
