Flood Watch issued May 16 at 3:01PM HST until May 17 at 8:00PM HST by NWS Honolulu HI...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH FRIDAY FOR NIIHAUKAUAI OAHU MOLOKAI AND LANAI......FLOOD WATCH IS CANCELLED FOR THE ISLANDS OF KAHOOLAWE AND MAUI...* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to bepossible.* WHERE...Niihau, Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, and Lanai.* WHEN...Through Friday evening.* IMPACTS...Significant flooding may occur due to the overflow ofstreams and drainages. Roads in several areas may be closed, alongwith property damage in urban or low lying spots due to runoff.Landslides may also occur in areas with steep terrain.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- A kona low northwest of the state will bring the potentialfor heavy rain and thunderstorms through at least Friday. Thefocus for excessive rainfall will be over Molokai, Lanai, andOahu initially, then will shift farther wester to focus overOahu, Kauai, and Niihau on Friday. All islands in the FloodWatch area should be prepared for the possibility of flashflooding.You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take actionshould Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

Flood Advisory issued May 17 at 12:32AM HST until May 17 at 2:00AM HST by NWS Honolulu HI* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.* WHERE...The island of Oahu in Honolulu County.* WHEN...Until 200 AM HST.* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and instreams.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 1230 AM HST, radar indicated moderate rain over easternOahu. Rain was falling at a rate of around 0.5 inches perhour. Rainfall is redeveloping to the south and is expectedto move back into central and west Oahu shortly. Streamlevels continue to run high across the island.- This advisory includes the entire island of Oahu.Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas proneto flooding.Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions dueto ponding, reduced visibility and poor braking action.A Flood Watch is also in effect through Friday evening.
