Flood Watch issued May 16 at 3:01PM HST until May 17 at 8:00PM HST by NWS Honolulu HI...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH FRIDAY FOR NIIHAUKAUAI OAHU MOLOKAI AND LANAI......FLOOD WATCH IS CANCELLED FOR THE ISLANDS OF KAHOOLAWE AND MAUI...* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to bepossible.* WHERE...Niihau, Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, and Lanai.* WHEN...Through Friday evening.* IMPACTS...Significant flooding may occur due to the overflow ofstreams and drainages. Roads in several areas may be closed, alongwith property damage in urban or low lying spots due to runoff.Landslides may also occur in areas with steep terrain.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- A kona low northwest of the state will bring the potentialfor heavy rain and thunderstorms through at least Friday. Thefocus for excessive rainfall will be over Molokai, Lanai, andOahu initially, then will shift farther wester to focus overOahu, Kauai, and Niihau on Friday.
