Heat Advisory issued June 5 at 9:54PM PDT until June 7 at 8:00PM PDT by NWS Reno NV* WHAT...High temperatures of 95 to 100 through Friday.* WHERE...Western Nevada Basin and Range including Pyramid Lake.* WHEN...Until 8 PM PDT Friday.* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and sunny skies may cause heatillnesses to occur, especially for those sensitive to heat andoutdoors for extended periods of time. Since this is the firstheat event of the summer season, many people are not yetacclimatized to heat and may be impacted more than normal.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...These are potentially record setting highsfor the date, and unusually early to be close to 100 degrees. Theaverage first 100 degrees for Fallon is not until July 10th.Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out ofthe sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children andpets should never be left unattended in vehicles under anycircumstances.
