Fire Weather Watch issued May 24 at 4:37AM MDT until May 25 at 9:00PM MDT by NWS Albuquerque NM...FIRE WEATHER WATCH FRIDAY FROM 3 TO 7 PM FOR THE NORTHEASTHIGHLANDS DUE TO STRONG WIND AND LOW HUMIDITY......FIRE WEATHER WATCH SATURDAY FROM 11 AM TO 9 PM AREAWIDE DUE TOSTRONG WIND, LOW HUMIDITY, AND AN UNSTABLE ATMOSPHERE......FIRE WEATHER WATCH SUNDAY FROM NOON UNTIL 8 PM FOR THE CENTRALHIGHLANDS DUE TO STRONG WIND, LOW HUMIDITY, AND AN UNSTABLEATMOSPHERE....The ongoing fire growing pattern will wane some today withcritical fire weather conditions focused on the NortheastHighlands, where winds will be strongest this afternoon. However,winds will become strong areawide on Saturday as an upper leveltrough draws the jetstream over New Mexico with widespreadcritical fire weather conditions over the northwest half of thefire weather forecast area. Critical-to-extreme fire weatherconditions are forecast over the southeast half of the forecastarea on Saturday, where wind gusts up to 50 mph are expected withHaines Indices varying from 5 to 6. In the wake of the upper leveltrough on Sunday, winds will trend weaker while remaining strongenough for one more day of critical fire weather conditions acrossthe Central Highlands.* AREA AND TIMING...Northwest Plateau (Zone 101), West CentralMountains (Zone 105), West Central Basin and Range (Zone 109),Middle Rio Grande Valley (Zone 106), Upper Rio Grande Valley andLower Chama River Valley (Zone 121), North Central, Sangre deCristo, Sandia, and Manzano Mountains (Zones 120, 122, and 124),and the Northeast and East Central Plains (Zones 104 and 126)Saturday from 11 AM until 9 PM.* 20 FOOT WINDS...West and southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to40 mph, except 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph along andeast of the central mountain chain.* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Minimum values from 6 to 16 percent withlocally higher values in the mountains near the Colorado border.* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.Outdoor burning is not recommended..Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in thefield of this Fire Weather Watch.
