Tropical Storm Warning issued September 26 at 11:12AM EDT by NWS Charleston SC* LOCATIONS AFFECTED- Goose Creek- Moncks Corner- Saint Stephen* WIND- LATEST LOCAL FORECAST: Below tropical storm force wind- Peak Wind Forecast: 20-30 mph with gusts to 50 mph- THREAT TO LIFE AND PROPERTY THAT INCLUDES TYPICAL FORECASTUNCERTAINTY IN TRACK, SIZE AND INTENSITY: Potential for wind 39to 57 mph- The wind threat has remained nearly steady from theprevious assessment.- PLAN: Plan for hazardous wind of equivalent tropical stormforce.- PREPARE: Efforts to protect property should now beunderway. Prepare for limited wind damage.- ACT: Act now to complete preparations before the windbecomes hazardous.- POTENTIAL IMPACTS: Limited- Damage to porches, awnings, carports, sheds, and unanchoredmobile homes. Unsecured lightweight objects blown about.- Large tree limbs broken off. A few trees snapped oruprooted, but with greater numbers in places where treesare shallow rooted.- Some roads impassable due to debris, particularly withinurban or heavily wooded locations. Hazardous drivingconditions on bridges and other elevated roadways,especially for high profile vehicles.- Isolated to scattered power and communications outages.* FLOODING RAIN- LATEST LOCAL FORECAST:- Peak Rainfall Amounts: Additional 1-3 inches, with locallyhigher amounts- THREAT TO LIFE AND PROPERTY THAT INCLUDES TYPICAL FORECASTUNCERTAINTY IN TRACK, SIZE AND INTENSITY: Potential formoderate flooding rain- The flooding rain threat has remained nearly steady fromthe previous assessment.- PLAN: Emergency plans should include the potential formoderate flooding from heavy rain. Evacuations and rescuesare possible.- PREPARE: Consider protective actions if you are in an areavulnerable to flooding.- ACT: Heed any flood watches and warnings. Failure to takeaction may result in serious injury or loss of life.- POTENTIAL IMPACTS: Significant- Moderate rainfall flooding could prompt some rescues.- Rivers and tributaries could quickly become swollen withswifter currents and overspill their banks in a few places,especially in normally vulnerable spots. Small streams,creeks, canals, and ditches overflow.- Flood waters can enter some structures or weakenfoundations. Several places could experience expanded areasof rapid inundation at underpasses, low-lying spots, andpoor drainage areas. Some streets and parking lots take onmoving water as storm drains and retention ponds overflow.Driving conditions become hazardous. If a tornadowarning is issued, be ready to shelter quickly.- POTENTIAL IMPACTS: Extensive- Numerous tornadoes can greatly hinder the execution ofemergency plans.- Tornadoes could produce pockets of extensive destruction,power loss, and communications failures.
