For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of4 to 6 feet expected in the surf zone.* WHERE...South Carolina Beaches.* WHEN...For the High Rip Current Risk, through this evening.For the High Surf Advisory, from 5 PM this afternoon to 8 PMEDT Friday.* IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions andlocalized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the bestswimmers away from shore into deeper water.Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due todangerous surf conditions.Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax andfloat. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in adirection following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face theshore and call or wave for help.

Tropical Storm Warning issued September 26 at 11:12AM EDT by NWS Charleston SC* LOCATIONS AFFECTED- Hilton Head Island- Beaufort- Bluffton* WIND- LATEST LOCAL FORECAST: Equivalent Tropical Storm force wind- Peak Wind Forecast: 30-40 mph with gusts to 60 mph- THREAT TO LIFE AND PROPERTY THAT INCLUDES TYPICAL FORECASTUNCERTAINTY IN TRACK, SIZE AND INTENSITY: Potential for wind 39to 57 mph- The wind threat has remained nearly steady from theprevious assessment.- PLAN: Plan for hazardous wind of equivalent tropical stormforce.- PREPARE: Remaining efforts to protect property should becompleted as soon as possible. Prepare for limited winddamage.- ACT: Move to safe shelter before the wind becomes hazardous.- POTENTIAL IMPACTS: Limited- Damage to porches, awnings, carports, sheds, and unanchoredmobile homes. Unsecured lightweight objects blown about.- Large tree limbs broken off.
