yellow warning - severe thunderstorm - in effect At 8:15 a.m. PDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing up to quarter size hail and heavy rain. The severe thunderstorm is located 5 km to the northwest of Courtenay and is moving to the northwest at 20km/h. Locations that will be affected include: -Courtenay -Highway 19 - Communities to the northwest of Courtenay ### Driving conditions will likely be difficult. Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions.
