yellow warning - severe thunderstorm - in effect At 6:52 p.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing strong wind gusts and loonie to ping pong ball size hail. Several severe thunderstorms are affecting Chatham-Kent . The first is located near Thamesville and is moving east at 30 km/h. Locations in the Path: North Thamesville Thamesville Moraviantown Bothwell The second is located near Grande Pointe and is also moving east at 30 km/h. Locations in the Path: Wallaceburg Grande Pointe Tupperville Dresden Hazards: Wind: strong (up to 90 km/h) Hail: up to golf ball size (up to 4.5 cm) ### Severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain. Take immediate cover if a thunderstorm approaches. If outside, protect yourself from flying debris and hail. Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
