yellow watch - severe thunderstorm - in effect Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain. Hazards: Up to golf ball sized hail. Wind gusts of 90 km/h. Locally very heavy rainfall. Timing: Late this afternoon and this evening. Additional Details: Isolated slow moving thunderstorms are developing in an humid airmass over portions of southern Saskatchewan. With high instability in place, some of these thunderstorms may become severe. ### Heavy rain can cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Strong wind gusts can damage trees, buildings and overturn vehicles. Large hail can cause significant damage and injury. Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to [email protected], call 1-800-239-0484 or post reports on X using #SKStorm. Be prepared for severe weather. If threatening weather approaches, take cover in a basement or interior room. If outside, protect yourself from flying debris and hail. When thunder roars, go indoors! Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Secure loose objects.
