Red Flag Warning issued May 6 at 1:46PM MST until May 7 at 7:00PM MST by NWS Flagstaff AZMon May 6 2024/...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON MST /1 PM MDT/ TO 7 PMMST /8 PM MDT/ TUESDAY DUE TO STRONG WINDS AND LOW RELATIVEHUMIDITY FOR PORTIONS OF NORTHEAST ARIZONA...The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has issued a Red FlagWarning due to strong winds and low relative humidity, which isin effect from noon MST /1 PM MDT/ to 7 PM MST /8 PM MDT/Tuesday.* AFFECTED AREA...Locations near Chinle, Dilkon, Eagar-Springerville, Holbrook, Kayenta, Kykotsmovi, Saint Johns,Snowflake-Taylor, Tuba City and Winslow.* WINDS...West 20 to 30 MPH with gusts up to 50 MPH.* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 8 percent.* IMPACTS...The combination of gusty winds and low humidity cancause fire to rapidly grow in size and intensity before firstresponders can contain them. Fine fuels will be particularlyvulnerable through the period of this warning.A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditionsare either occurring or are imminent.
