Flooding may occurin poor drainage and urban areas.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- Showers and thunderstorms will increase across the region,with some training of thunderstorms possible. Between 1 and 3 inches of rainhave fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2.5 inches in 1hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible inthe warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to beginshortly.HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.SOURCE...Radar.IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urbanareas, highways, streets and underpasses as well asother poor drainage and low-lying areas.* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...De Ridder, Leesville, Newton, Rosepine, Merryville, Burkeville,Toledo Bend Dam, Bon Weir, Fort Johnson, Slagle, New Llano, BurrFerry, Junction, Stringtown, Mayflower, Farrsville, Jamestown,Harrisburg, Evans and Pickering.Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flooddeaths occur in vehicles.Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize thedangers of flooding.In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which arepotentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross floodedroads. Find an alternate route.
