Red Flag Warning issued May 24 at 7:46PM MDT until May 25 at 9:00PM MDT by NWS Albuquerque NM...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 9 PM AREAWIDE DUE TOSTRONG WIND, LOW HUMIDITY, AND AN UNSTABLE ATMOSPHERE......FIRE WEATHER WATCH FROM NOON UNTIL 8 PM SUNDAY FOR THE CENTRALHIGHLANDS DUE TO STRONG WIND, LOW HUMIDITY, AND AN UNSTABLEATMOSPHERE....Winds will trend stronger areawide on Saturday as an upper leveltrough moves through the region. Widespread critical fire weatheris likely. Locally extreme fire weather conditions are possibleover highlands of the central mountains, where wind gusts inexcess of 50 mph are expected. Very unstable conditions arepossible, particularly across the central mountains and the RioGrande Valley. In the wake of the upper level trough on Sunday,winds will trend weaker but remain strong enough critical fireweather conditions across the Central Highlands.* AREA AND TIMING...Northwest Plateau (Zone 101), West CentralMountains (Zone 105), West Central Basin and Range (Zone 109),Middle Rio Grande Valley (Zone 106), Upper Rio Grande Valley andLower Chama River Valley (Zone 121), North Central, Sangre deCristo, Sandia, and Manzano Mountains (Zones 120, 122, and 124),Northeast Highlands (Zone 123), and the Northeast and EastCentral Plains (Zones 104 and 126) from 11 AM until 9 PMSaturday.* 20 FOOT WINDS...West and southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts upto 40 mph, except 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph alongand east of the central mountain chain.* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Minimum values from 6 to 16 percent withlocally higher values in the mountains near the Coloradoborder.* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.Outdoor burning is not recommended..Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in thefield of this Red Flag Warning.
