Fire Weather Watch issued May 7 at 3:29AM MDT until May 8 at 8:00PM MDT by NWS Albuquerque NM...RED FLAG WARNING TODAY FROM 10 AM UNTIL 9 PM AREAWIDE BELOWSNOWPACK DUE TO STRONG WINDS, VERY LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND ANUNSTABLE ATMOSPHERE......FIRE WEATHER WATCH WEDNESDAY FROM 11 AM UNTIL 8 PM ALONG ANDEAST OF THE CENTRAL MOUNTAIN CHAIN BELOW SNOWPACK DUE TO STRONGWINDS AND VERY LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY....A dangerous and critical fire weather pattern will unfold todayas strong to severe winds, warmer temperatures, very low humidityand unstable conditions combine. All of northern and central NewMexico is expected to observe these critical conditions today, butthe strongest winds will be focused over and near the Sangre deCristo mountains. The lowest humidity will be found in central toeastern areas of the state where readings of less than 10 percentwill persist for several hours.While critical conditions are forecast to improve this evening,breezy to windy conditions will redevelop on Wednesday, leadingto another possible bout of fire weather in central to easternareas New Mexico with a focus in Torrance, San Miguel andGuadalupe counties.* AREA AND TIMING...Northeast and East central Plains (Zones 104and 126), Sangre de Cristo and Sandia/Manzano Mountains (Zones122 and 124), and the Central and Northeast Highlands (Zones 123and 125) today from 10 AM until 9 PM, and Wednesday from 11 AMuntil 8 PM.* 20 FOOT WINDS...For Tuesday, west and southwest 25 to 35 mphwith gusts up to 55 mph, except around 65 mph in the Sangre deCristo Mountains and Northeast Highlands.
