Red Flag Warning issued May 1 at 5:21AM MDT until May 1 at 8:00PM MDT by NWS Albuquerque NM...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT ACROSS EASTERN NEW MEXICO AND THEUPPER RIO GRANDE VALLEY LATE MORNING THROUGH EVENING DUE TOSTRONG WINDS, LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND AN UNSTABLE ATMOSPHERE....Southwest winds will increase today ahead of a disturbance overthe Great Basin. 20 foot winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts of 35 to40 mph, relative humidity falling to or below 10 percent for afew hours, high Haines and dry fine fuels will result in criticalfire weather conditions late morning through early evening.Critical fire weather conditions wane after sunset as winds taperoff and relative humidity rises.* AREA AND TIMING...Northeast Plains (Zone 104), NortheastHighlands (Zone 123), Central Highlands (Zone 125), East CentralPlains (Zone 126) and the Upper Rio Grande Valley (Zone 121)late morning through evening.* 20 FOOT WINDS...Southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph with peakgusts of 35 to 40 mph Wednesday afternoon.* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Falling to 6 to 10 percent Wednesdayafternoon.* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.Outdoor burning is not recommended.Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in thefield of this Red Flag Warning.
