Flash flooding is alreadyoccurring.HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.SOURCE...Emergency management reported.IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poordrainage and low-lying areas.Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...Lawton, Cache, Medicine Park, Indiahoma, Fort Sill, Lake Lawtonka,southwestern Lake Ellsworth, Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge,The Visitor Center, Doris Campground and Mount Scott.Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flooddeaths occur in vehicles.Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize thedangers of flooding.In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which arepotentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross floodedroads. Find an alternate route.
