Special Weather Statement issued July 4 at 1:57AM EDT by NWS Northern Indiana At 157 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near North Webster, or 7 miles northwest of Tri-lakes, moving northeast at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Tri-lakes, Albion, Churubusco, Rome City, North Webster, Etna, Big Barbee Lake, Brimfield, Ege, Ridinger Lake, Green Center, Merriam, Wilmot, Blue Lake, Big Lake, Knapp Lake, Goose Lake, Loon Lake, Ormas, and Sechrist Lake. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

In northern Indiana, De Kalb, Elkhart, Fulton IN, Lagrange, Marshall, Noble, Steuben and Whitley. * WHEN...Until 500 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 148 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
