Special Weather Statement issued June 17 at 9:20AM CDT by NWS Quad Cities IA IL Winds may abruptly shift to the southeast or south and become quite gusty in the wake of the strong storms over the next hour or two. These winds could gust 50 to near 60 mph, which could blow around any loose objects and make for hazardous driving for high profile vehicles. There have been some reports of southeast winds gusting over 50 mph along and north of the Highway 30 corridor well after the stronger storms had passed.

Flood Watch issued June 17 at 10:07AM CDT until June 17 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Quad Cities IA IL * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Illinois, including the following areas, Hancock, Henderson, McDonough, Mercer, Rock Island and Warren, Iowa, including the following areas, Cedar, Clinton, Des Moines, Henry IA, Iowa, Jefferson, Johnson, Keokuk, Lee, Louisa, Muscatine, Scott, Van Buren and Washington, and northeast Missouri, including the following areas, Clark and Scotland. * WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall, with some seeing repeating rounds of storms though the day. There will be the potential to see around 3 inches or more of rainfall. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
