Flood Watch issued June 25 at 11:17PM CDT until June 26 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Wichita KS * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of central, east central, south central, and southeast Kansas, including the following counties, in central Kansas, Marion, McPherson and Rice. In east central Kansas, Chase. In south central Kansas, Butler, Cowley, Harper, Harvey, Kingman, Reno, Sedgwick and Sumner. In southeast Kansas, Allen, Chautauqua, Elk, Greenwood, Labette, Montgomery, Neosho, Wilson and Woodson. * WHEN...Until 7 AM CDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Flood Warning issued June 25 at 11:29PM CDT until June 26 at 3:15AM CDT by NWS Wichita KS * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Kansas, including the following county, Neosho. * WHEN...Until 315 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1129 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to slow-moving thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Chanute, Erie, St. Paul, Thayer, Galesburg, Earlton, Lake Parsons, South Mound and Chanute Airport. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.

Neosho River near Chanute affecting Neosho and Allen Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Neosho River near Chanute. * WHEN...From late Friday night to early Saturday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 23.0 feet, The right bank overflows and agricultural flooding can be expected. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:30 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 9.1 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 23.0 feet early Saturday morning. - Flood stage is 23.0 feet. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov.
