Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Repeated rounds of showers and thunderstorms capable of heavy rain are expected today through the weekend. Already wet soils in some areas will make flooding more susceptible, especially with each additional round of rainfall. Special Weather Statement issued July 11 at 5:22AM EDT by NWS Louisville KY At 522 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 6 miles south of Versailles to Dunbar High School to 7 miles southwest of Winchester. Movement was northeast at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Lexington, Nicholasville, Winchester, Dunbar High School, Cardinal Hill, Cadentown, Northland, Fayette Mall, Veterans Park, and Bryan Station. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
