Beach Hazards Statement issued July 27 at 10:04AM EDT until July 29 at 2:00AM EDT by NWS Grand Rapids MI * WHAT...High wave action, strong currents, and dangerous swimming conditions expected. Piers may be heavily swamped by waves. * WHERE...Mason, Oceana, Muskegon, Ottawa, Allegan and Van Buren counties. * WHEN...From late tonight through late Tuesday night. * IMPACTS...Strong currents can pull swimmers into deeper water and high waves can sweep people off piers. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...It will be especially dangerous on the north side of north facing piers. Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions and do not venture out on piers. Please check with your local authorities on potential beach closures.

Flood Advisory issued July 27 at 8:00AM EDT until July 27 at 2:00PM EDT by NWS Grand Rapids MI * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southwest Michigan, including the following county, Van Buren. * WHEN...Until 200 PM EDT Monday. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. River or stream flows are elevated. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 800 AM EDT, Radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain of 1 to 2 inches has fallen in the last hour. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... South Haven, Paw Paw, Hartford, Mattawan, Lawton, Bangor, Decatur, Van Buren SP, Pine Grove, Covert, Keeler, Lawrence, Gobles, Bloomingdale, Breedsville, Glendale, Grand Junction, Lacota, Kendall and South Haven Area Regional Airport. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
