Fire Weather Watch issued June 7 at 1:39PM CDT until June 9 at 10:00PM CDT by NWS North Platte NE The National Weather Service in North Platte has issued a Fire Weather Watch for above average temperatures, low relative humidity, and gusty southwest winds, which is in effect from Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday evening. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 204 Eastern Panhandle/Crescent Lake NWR. * TIMING...Noon MDT through 9 PM MDT. * WINDS...Southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 12 percent. * TEMPERATURES...Up to 100. * LIGHTNING...Possible in the evening. * IMPACTS...Any fire starts may rapidly grow and spread. Fires will be difficult to control. A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible Red Flag Warnings.

Special Weather Statement issued June 7 at 6:23PM MDT by NWS North Platte NE At 623 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Alliance Municipal Airport to 9 miles east of Dalton. Movement was northeast at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Oshkosh, Ellsworth, Lisco, Antioch, Crescent Lake National Wildlife Refuge, Dogtown Flats, Deer Lake, Britton Lake, Richardson Lake, Miles Lake, Mumper, Wickson Lake, Diamond Lake, Herman Lake, Adams Flats, Krause Lake, Sugar Loaf Hill, Rackett, Patterson Lake, and Kennedy Lake. This includes the following highways... Highway 250 between mile markers 1 and 22. Highway 2 between mile markers 96 and 122. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
