Flood Watch issued June 20 at 3:00PM CDT until June 21 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Hastings NE * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of north central Kansas, including the following counties, Jewell, Mitchell, Osborne, Phillips, Rooks and Smith and Nebraska, including the following counties, Adams, Buffalo, Clay, Dawson, Fillmore, Franklin, Furnas, Gosper, Greeley, Hall, Hamilton, Harlan, Howard, Kearney, Merrick, Nance, Nuckolls, Phelps, Polk, Sherman, Thayer, Valley, Webster and York. * WHEN...Through Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Through roughly sunrise Sunday morning, the entire Watch area will be prone to seeing one or more rounds of thunderstorms producing heavy rain, primarily occurring Saturday evening into early Sunday morning. For the majority of the Watch area, 24-hour rainfall totals by sunrise Sunday will likely reach 1 to 3 inches, but small portions of the area could end up with at least 3 to 6 inches of total rainfall, including rain that already fell during the day Saturday. Due to the combination of upcoming and previously-fallen rain, various pockets of the Watch area could experience flooding or flash flooding issues into early Sunday morning. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Flood Advisory issued June 20 at 5:54PM CDT until June 20 at 10:00PM CDT by NWS Hastings NE * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Northeastern Adams County in south central Nebraska... Clay County in south central Nebraska... Southern Fillmore County in south central Nebraska... Southeastern Hall County in south central Nebraska... Southwestern Hamilton County in south central Nebraska... Northeastern Nuckolls County in south central Nebraska... Northern Thayer County in south central Nebraska... * WHEN...Until 1000 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 550 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated that thunderstorms earlier today dumped a fairly widespread 1.5 to 3.5 inches of rain across much of the Advisory area. Rain has since ended across the vast majority of the area, but minor flooding possibly continues as a result of continued runoff. Furthermore, another generally 1 to 2 inches of rain, and possibly more, is likely to fall over the Advisory area yet this evening, which could cause additional or renewed flooding issues. A Flood Watch is in effect for the area through 7 AM Sunday morning. - This includes the following streams and drainages... South Fork Big Sandy Creek, Beaver Creek, Little Sandy Creek, Big Sandy Creek, Walnut Creek, Dry Sandy Creek, Pawnee Creek, School Creek, Buffalo Creek, West Fork Big Blue River, Turkey Creek and Flat Creek. - Some locations that could experience flooding include... Harvard, Clay Center, Edgar, Fairfield, Shickley, Glenvil, Davenport, Bruning, Trumbull, Alexandria, Inland, Carleton, Ong, Belvidere, Strang and Hansen. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
