Flood Watch issued June 5 at 8:17PM CDT until June 6 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Omaha/Valley NE * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Nebraska, including the following counties, Jefferson and Saline. * WHEN...Until 7 AM CDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A band of heavy rain will continue to develop late this evening and linger into early Saturday morning. Localized rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are expected and could lead to flash flooding, especially in areas that received recent heavy rain. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

Southwestern Lancaster County in southeastern Nebraska... Saline County in southeastern Nebraska... Southern Seward County in southeastern Nebraska... * Until 415 AM CDT. * At 1114 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Crete, Milford, Friend, Dorchester, Beaver Crossing, Western, Cordova, Tobias, Blue River State Recreation Area, Swan Creek Reservoir Number 2, The Highway 41 and 15 South Junction, Willard Meyer Recreation Area and Walnut Creek Recreation Area. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
