Northwestern Thayer County in south central Nebraska... * WHEN...Until 700 PM CDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 552 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Little Blue River, Oxbow Creek, South Fork Big Sandy Creek, Spring Creek, Turtle Creek, Oak Creek, Crosby Creek, Thawes Creek, Lost Creek, Republican River, Big Sandy Creek, Little Sandy Creek and Elk Creek. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Superior, Nelson, Davenport, Ruskin, Oak and Nora. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
