Flash Flood Warning issued June 11 at 4:14AM CDT until June 11 at 7:15AM CDT by NWS Omaha/Valley NE FFWOAX The National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for... Northern Lancaster County in southeastern Nebraska... Seward County in southeastern Nebraska... * Until 715 AM CDT. * At 414 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Lincoln, Seward, Milford, Utica, Beaver Crossing, Malcolm, Staplehurst, Garland, Pleasant Dale, Bee, Raymond, Goehner, Davey, Emerald, Lincoln Airport, Pioneers Park, Holmes Lake Park, Walton, Denton and Pawnee State Recreation Area. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued June 11 at 4:56AM CDT until June 11 at 5:30AM CDT by NWS Omaha/Valley NE At 455 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 4 miles north of Palmyra, or 16 miles east of Lincoln, moving east at 60 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Weather Instrument Measurement measured 70 mph gust in Lincoln, Nebraska at 4:37 AM. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. This severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of eastern Lancaster, western Otoe and western Cass Counties, including the following locations... Stagecoach State Recreation Area, Mahoney State Park, Wagon Train State Recreation Area, and Alvo. This includes Interstate 80 in Nebraska between mile markers 401 and 426. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
