Heat Advisory issued July 3 at 1:40PM EDT until July 4 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ * WHAT...Heat index values between 95 and 105 degrees expected each day. * WHERE...Atlantic Coastal Cape May, Coastal Atlantic, and Coastal Ocean Counties. * WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Very warm low temperatures in the low to mid 70s at night will not offer much relief from the heat and humidity. This combined with multiple days of near record breaking temperatures will exacerbate the impacts from the heat and humidity. The hottest conditions are expected to occur today before the sea breeze develops, however hot and humid conditions will occur again on Saturday before the sea breeze develops. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1. If you do not have air conditioning in your home or lack shelter, you can call 211 or visit your county or state health department website for assistance locating appropriate shelter from the heat.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued July 3 at 9:22PM EDT until July 3 at 9:45PM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ At 922 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 14 miles east of Seaside Heights to 6 miles northeast of Barnegat to Atsion, moving southeast at 25 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Damage to roofs, siding, trees, and power lines is possible. Locations impacted include... Barnegat, Shamong, Tuckerton, Surf City, Port Republic, Wharton State Forest, Atsion, Wading River, Brookville, Bass River State Forest, Warren Grove, Chatsworth, New Gretna, Penn State Forest, Beach Haven West, Mystic Island, Ocean Acres, Manahawkin, and Waretown. This includes Garden State Parkway between mile markers 50 and 75. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. To report severe weather contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in Mount Holly NJ. HAZARD...Wind gusts to nearly 50 knots and small hail. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include... Atlantic City, Little Egg Reef, Atlantic City Reef, Ship Bottom, Great Egg Inlet, Garden State South Reef, Great Egg Reef, Harvey Cedars, Ocean City Reef, Beach Haven, The Lump, North Beach Haven, 28- Mile Wreck, Garden State North Reef, Little Egg Inlet, Buoy Ge, Brigantine, and Sea Isle City. IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. Locations impacted include...
