Special Weather Statement issued July 13 at 12:11PM EDT by NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC At 1210 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a heavy rain shower 8 miles northwest of Kannapolis, or 5 miles north of Enochville. This shower was nearly stationary, drifting southward only very slowly. Locations to be impacted include... Kannapolis, China Grove, Landis, and Enochville. Very heavy rainfall rates up to 2 inches per hour will be possible in these areas. Torrential rainfall may flood areas with poor drainage, such as ditches and underpasses. Avoid these areas and do not cross flooded roads. Water levels of small streams may also rise rapidly. Seek higher ground if threatened by flood waters.
