For the Heat Advisory, from 8 PM this evening to 8 PM CDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Special Weather Statement issued July 3 at 2:42PM CDT by NWS Nashville TN At 242 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Nashville. This thunderstorm was nearly stationary. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Nashville, Brentwood, Forest Hills, Oak Hill, Belle Meade, Bellevue, Berry Hill, Beaman Park, Bells Bend, and Whites Creek. This includes the following highways... Interstate 40 between mile markers 194 and 215. Interstate 65 between mile markers 75 and 90. Interstate 24 between mile markers 38 and 53. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
