Eastern Shelby County in Tennessee... * Until 200 PM CDT. * At 1058 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Bartlett, Collierville, Germantown, Millington, Cordova, Memphis, Lakeland, Arlington, Ellendale, Frayser, Midtown Memphis, Eads, Downtown Memphis, Elmore Park, Spring Lake, Raleigh, White Station, Lucy, Brunswick and Lenow. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1126 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are expected over the area.
