For the Heat Advisory, from 8 PM this evening to 8 PM CDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Special Weather Statement issued July 3 at 3:29PM CDT by NWS Nashville TN At 329 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms near Franklin, Dickson, and Kingston Springs. These thunderstorms are nearly stationary. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Franklin, Dickson, Ashland City, Brentwood, Spring Hill, Nolensville, Forest Hills, White Bluff, Kingston Springs, Thompson's Station, Pegram, Burns, Fairview, Charlotte, Natchez Trace At Highway 96, and Leipers Fork. This includes the following highways... Interstate 40 between mile markers 170 and 196. Interstate 65 between mile markers 55 and 74. Interstate 840 between mile markers 1 and 4, between mile markers 7 and 17, and between mile markers 22 and 40. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
