Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 2 to 3 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Bartlett, Collierville, Germantown, Millington, Cordova, Memphis, Lakeland, Arlington, Ellendale, Frayser, Midtown Memphis, Eads, Downtown Memphis, Elmore Park, Spring Lake, Raleigh, White Station, Lucy, Brunswick and Lenow. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1126 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are expected over the area.
