Movement was northeast at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Blowing dust may result in brief visibility reductions. Locations impacted include... Lubbock, Plainview, Slaton, Abernathy, Hale Center, Wolfforth, Shallowater, Idalou, Ransom Canyon, Kress, Cotton Center, Claytonville, Lubbock South Plains Mall, Aiken, Lubbock International Airport, Texas Tech University, Halfway, Downtown Lubbock, Reese Center, and Seth Ward. Be prepared for sudden reductions in visibility due to blowing dust. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
