Red Flag Warning issued June 25 at 11:20AM MDT until June 28 at 12:00AM MDT by NWS Salt Lake City UT * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 478 Salt Lake Desert, Fire Weather Zone 482 Western Uintah Basin, Fire Weather Zone 484 Tavaputs Plateau, Fire Weather Zone 488 Manti National Forest, Fire Weather Zone 489 San Rafael Swell, Fire Weather Zone 492 Central Utah West Desert, Fire Weather Zone 495 Color Country West Desert and Fire Weather Zone 497 Mojave Desert. * WINDS...Southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. Winds may temporarily turn northwesterly and lighter on Friday night behind an initial cold front before returning to strong out of the southwest on Saturday. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 7 percent with little overnight recovery Friday night. * IMPACTS...Critical fire weather conditions are expected. Any new fire starts or existing fires may spread rapidly. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now...or are imminent. A combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

Flood Advisory issued June 25 at 3:15PM MDT until June 25 at 4:15PM MDT by NWS Salt Lake City UT * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of northern Utah, including the following county, Salt Lake. * WHEN...Until 415 PM MDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 314 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. Up to an additional 0.5 inches of rain can be expected. Large hail has also been occurring with this storm, and may exacerbate drainage potential. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Salt Lake City, West Valley City, Murray, West Jordan, Taylorsville, Midvale, Holladay, South Salt Lake, Millcreek, Cottonwood West, East Millcreek, Canyon Rim, Mount Olympus and Sugarhouse. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
