Flash Flood Warning issued July 5 at 7:48PM EDT until July 5 at 10:15PM EDT by NWS Baltimore MD/Washington DC At 748 PM EDT, emergency management reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain in Between Franklin and Upper Tract. Between 2.5 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Emergency management reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Franklin... Brandywine... Upper Tract... Ruddle... Deer Run... Oak Flat... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
