Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued June 10 at 12:50PM CDT until June 10 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Duluth MN SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 301 REMAINS VALID UNTIL 7 PM CDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN WISCONSIN THIS WATCH INCLUDES 8 COUNTIES IN NORTH CENTRAL WISCONSIN PRICE IN NORTHWEST WISCONSIN ASHLAND BAYFIELD BURNETT DOUGLAS IRON SAWYER WASHBURN THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ASHLAND, BAYFIELD, GRANTSBURG, HAYWARD, HURLEY, PHILLIPS, SHELL LAKE, SPOONER, SUPERIOR, AND WASHBURN. THIS ALSO INCLUDES THE TRIBAL LANDS OF THE LAC COURTE OREILLES RESERVATION, THE ST. CROIX BAND IN BURNETT COUNTY, THE BAD RIVER RESERVATION, THE RED CLIFF BAND AND THE NORTHWESTERN AREA OF THE LAC DU FLAMBEAU BAND.

Marine Weather Statement issued June 10 at 4:15PM CDT by NWS Duluth MN The areas affected include... Duluth MN to Port Wing WI... Lake Superior west of a line from Saxon Harbor WI to Grand Portage MN beyond 5NM... Port Wing to Sand Island WI... Silver Bay Harbor to Two Harbors MN... Two Harbors to Duluth MN... At 413 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated an area of strengthening thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This thunderstorm was located 34 nm west of Duluth Harbor, or 35 nm west of Duluth Lift Bridge Channel, moving northeast at 25 knots. They are expected to arrive into the Twin Ports Harbor area shortly after 5 PM this evening. Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this storm passes. This strong thunderstorm will likely produce winds to around 30 knots, and could pose a serious hazard for boaters. A special marine warning may eventually be required when this strong thunderstorm reaches the nearshore waters. Boaters should consider heading for shore before this strong thunderstorm arrives.
